CBC News
Workers voted on the new contract on Saturday. “Production at the beef processing plant needs to ramp back up and this means not everyone will have full-time hours right away”The United Food and Commercial Workers said the new contract includes:
- a wage increase.
- improved dental coverage.
- and changes to both short-term disability and bereavement leave entitlement.
As workers return to work on Monday, the union said production at the beef processing plant needs to ramp back up and this means not everyone will have full-time hours right away.
The union says pro-rated strike pay will be available for the first week for those not receiving full hours immediately.
