Canadian Meat Business is Going Digital!
We launched Canadian Meat Business in 2002 and over that time we have proudly published more than 100 consecutive issues and 16 Annual Buyer’s Guides. However, after much consideration, we have decided it’s time to go digital!
by Ray Blumenfeld – Publisher, Canadian Meat Business
As time has passed and the accessibility to new technology has increased, we have determined that we must also grow to keep pace with the way in which we distribute information and promote the Canadian meat and food industries.
As a result, starting in January 2020, Canadian Meat Business will no longer be printing hard copies of our magazine but will be distributing our content through various digital platforms and formats as is the increasingly popular choice for businesses in Canada and around the world.
“This new digital technology will afford us the opportunity to make significant improvements which will make our content more accessible and easily shared with anyone, anywhere”
While this decision was not an easy one to make after 17 years of publishing a traditional magazine, there are far too many positive reasons for going digital. The old model of printing and distributing magazines with no way of tracking results has become cumbersome and outdated.
This new digital technology will afford us the opportunity to make significant improvements which will make our content more accessible and easily shared with anyone, anywhere. We’ll be able to feature videos, podcasts and photos which we could not do with a traditional magazine. We’ll be able to disseminate news and updates in an expedient manner allowing us to keep pace with the ever changing landscape of our industry. Unlike print, digital is environmentally friendly as no trees will be cut down for paper and toxic ink materials will not be used in the creation or distribution process. Plus we’ll have access to valuable tracking and reporting insights which will allow us to better focus our content and provide added value to our advertising and marketing partners.
In order to facilitate this transition going forward, we are redesigning the Canadian Meat Business website and we will be enhancing our social media platforms. Plus we will provide a number of channels of communicating with our readers through regular updates, our weekly e-newsletter The Meat Locker along with a monthly version of our e-zine.
Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to serving you now, and into the future.
Happy New Year and the best in 2020!
