Cattle ranchers in drought-stricken central Manitoba are worried about their future after a lack of hay and pasture forced them to sell off herds at emergency auctions.

  CBC News

The plight of this years’ relentless drought has backed Manitoba cattle ranchers and farmers into a corner, forcing the third emergency auction since July.

“It’s heartbreaking to watch convoys of cattle trucks line up with some farmers forced to sell entire herds. “

Many famers feel this drought, in an area plagued with below average rainfall for the third straight year, could be the end of cattle farming in Manitoba, as revealed in this CBC special report video.
